We’re excited to announce that The Critical Surf Studies Reader is available for pre-order on the Duke University Press website! After several years of workshopping ideas, conference papers, conversations, chapter drafts, and intensive correspondence across four continents, the manuscript is finally typeset and ready for print. Volume under contract with Duke University Press!

We’re excited to announce that the Critical Surf Studies Reader is now under contract with Duke University Press! After some working and reworking of the volume, countless productive conversations with the lovely folks at Duke UP, and some great critical comments from collaborators and contributors, we’re now working through the final manuscript for submission in early 2016! Colleen McGloin – University of Wollongong (NSW, Australia)

Colleen McGloin is Senior Lecturer in Indigenous Studies at the University of Wollongong. She comes from a multi-disciplinary background in English Studies and Cultural Studies and is interested in interdisciplinary approaches to teaching and learning. Colleen’s key research interests are in critical pedagogy as a body of knowledge that is politically and socially motivated toward social justice. Krista Comer – Rice University (TX, USA)

Professor Comer is an American Studies scholar of the contemporary period with interests in problems of space, place and their theorization. Her books include Landscapes of the New West: Gender and Genre in Contemporary Women’s Writing (1999) and Surfer Girls in the New World Order (2010). She has published essays about critical regionalism and gender, questions of history in literature and critical theory, Civil Rights literatures and post-Civil Rights political imaginations, feminist environmentalism, and issues of youth politics and girls’ communities under neoliberalism.
